I agree Lemieux has had his chance and it should be over.
I agree 55 and 26 need to be split up.
I will add this though about Maurice and Chevy for that matter, can you name
A single franchise where the fan base is 100% in agreement with the coach and GM on all decisions? I highly, highly doubt it. Yet around here and twitter (Jets fans) criticize Maurice and Chevy for doing things every other coach and gm do.
I’ve also decided that every time Dano’s name is mentioned I will be responding with Dano who? I have no patience left to discuss fringe nhl’ers. I mean he is already being healthy scratched on an avalanche team with absolutely no depth after their first line!!!!! |

Peter Tessier: On Lemieux, Maurice, the Jets and what now?
Dumb Lemieux, why Maurice and a few more thoughts on the 1-1 record during the Global Series in Finland and what's to come for the Jets. - Peter.Tessier
I'm guessing Lemieux gets about 5 games. It was dirty and nothing but elbow to the head with zero contact anywhere else. The kid has been brutal since called up. Maurice's interview summed it up perfectly. At least Ehlers is starting to heat up. And Niku is looking like a stud on the Moose. |
|
|
|
Lemieux gets limited ice time and is trying to make an impression. He was trying to earn Maurice’s trust. If he had more ice time, I don’t think he would have made the same mistake. |

Here’s the “Rexy’s Super-Mega-Awesome Plan of Total Success”. Trademark pending.
-Trade Myers for Klefbom. Add whatever you need to, so long as it’s from the Moose or a draft pick
-Fire the entirety of the Jets coaching staff (optional, unlikely, probably necessary)
-Obtain additional forward at deadline, just cause
-Call up Niku and Poolman
-waive Chiarot
Lineup:
Laine-Scheifele-Roslovic
Perreault-Little-Ehlers
Connor-Petan-Wheeler
Copp-Lowry-Tanev
(TDL forward goes in Tanev’s spot)
Morrissey-Trouba
Klefbom-Byfuglien
Niku-Poolman
Morrow
PP1 stays the same, but the Morrissey version:
Laine-Scheifele-Connor-Wheeler-Morrissey
PP2 mirrors PP1’s setup, but with the one timer on the opposite side:
Petan is Wheeler, Perreault is Scheifele, Ehlers is Laine, Roslovic is Connor, and Niku is Morrissey
PK units:
Lowry, Copp, Morrissey, Trouba
Perreault, Scheifele, Klefbom, Byfuglien |

He would. He got thrown out of 7 games last season. It took him 22 minutes to get thrown out of an NHL game. He’s never going to be an NHL regular. |

Lemieux plays like a young guy, tentative in some moments, over aggressive in others. Nothing strange or out of the ordinary and this one mistake shouldn't label him. Maybe it's exaclty part of the learning curve for a guy who will only make it playing on the edge like that? How he responds to this will tell us a lot about his future, or lack there of.

He has no respect for other players. Add that in with his glaring lazy streak, lack of hockey iq, and MAGA hat Instagram story, and you’ve got a guy who won’t be on this team by seasons end
Of note: I have a strong anti-Brendan Lemieux bias, mostly due to his riding name value since he left Barrie |

Oilers will never make that trade. Accept that. Klefbom is on a great contract and Myers is a UFA. Unless the deal is much bigger, something like Myers and ehlers for Klefbom and pulju???
Sadly reality is, if Trouba won’t sign here we will be forced to trade him for the best possible trade we can make. If this doesn’t result in a right shot D coming back which is highly probable, we will then have to make a subsequent move where we trade a forward ( my guess ehlers or Connor ) for an equally young talented team controlled D.
I dont want to trade ehlers or Connor but if you want a talented young D this will be the cost. |

Well, allow me to stop ya right there- get (frank)ed on that trade
3.5 years older, worse in most ways, on an expiring contract that already pays him 1.4mil more than Klefbom is set to make for another 4 years and he doesn't cover the minutes we'd be losing from Klefbom (controlling play 25+ mins/night). Figure it'd be wise to at least TRY to come up with a fair deal. |

If you really want to shake things up:
To LA: Jacob Trouba, Bryan Little, Kristian Vesalainen, 2019 2nd round pick, 2020 conditional 1st round pick (Pick becomes a 3rd if Jets don’t win the cup in the next two years)
To WPG: Anze Kopitar
Salaries match, Vesalainen is added to take Little’s contract. We add an impact Center that will be here for years to come and someone who is defensively responsible. |

Holy crap! That’a Gross overpayment for a great player but one that is aging and making 10 mill.

I totally agree, it’s stupid as all hell for Edmonton. It’s also got Chiarelli written all over it |

Really, really, really bad. Kopitar’s deal is 100x worse than Little’s, and he’s already in decline.
This isn’t even mentioning the massive overpayment. Trouba is probably worth more in a trade right now, considering Kopitar’s age, deal, and start to the season |

Hall for Larsson
Eberle for Strome
4x4 for Russell
6x7? For Lucic
The trade can easily happen |

That's an exhausting sentence that I've been reading hundreds of times. "Your GM made bad trades, therefore I can't show even a modicum of respect to you or the rest of your fanbase in actually trying to propose something that would make for an interesting discussion". Not only is your reasoning for it unoriginal and inane, you didn't even put enough effort in to make it remotely funny. Congrats, internet cretin. |

A trade that could potentially win back-to-back cups is a bad trade? I think it's wise to try and win it all sooner than later. Chicago did something very similar when they signed Hossa. I don't see Chicago fans being upset about the three cups.

Kopitar had the same amount of points as Wheeler last year. Comparing him to Little is like comparing a Lamborghini to a Ford. |

I agree that this could put us over the top and I also agree with those saying it’s a huge over payment. That’s the hard thing with these types of trades, if you win the cup as a result of the trade then how can anyone say you lost the trade? The kings on paper absolutely lost the mike Richards for Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds trade but they won a cup with Richards so did the really lose that trade? I say no!!! |

I would not do that trade. Ehlers is a Kariya/Bure type player and is proven. Both players you want are unproven. If I trade Ehlers, I want a Center coming back. |
